MODERN women may work themselves ragged in the office and the gym, but those in 1953 burned three times as many calories. New research has found today's ladies are not the healthy lot they thought they were. Their 45 minutes on the treadmill or evening class in Pilates does not make up for the huge change in lifestyle over the last 50 years.
